I’m incredibly honored to be a doula and welcomed into the beautiful and intimate space of birth! I graduated in May 2017 from Iowa State with a major in Women’s and Gender Studies. It was in these classes I realized my passion for birth advocacy, and desire to bring back bodily autonomy and independence in the birthing space. Instead of walking at my graduation, I attended my workshop with DONA International to begin my journey as a doula.

I currently am on track to attend nursing school, with the goal to eventually become a midwife. During school, I plan to work as a CNA and doula and gain as much experience as I can in a variety of birthing spaces. In my role as a doula, I bring my feminist background and seek to empower families of all backgrounds, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and strong. I ensure that all births are a judgement-free area, where birthing persons are able to find their voices.

I grew up in Marion, IA with my mother, father, and 2 sisters. Now I live in Urbandale with my fiance, Jason, andour black lab, Pippa. My favorite things include cooking, reading, watching and analyzing pop culture, dogs, birth, social justice, and spending time with friends and family!

“If women lose the right to say where and how they birth their children, then they will have lost something that’s as dear to life as breathing.”
