Andrea Shandri, M.Ed, CD(DONA), CCCE
Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, I have really enjoyed not only building my family here but also growing a business in our great, supportive community. I have been both a doula and photographer for close to five years and have taught my own independent childbirth education class for one year. Having attended over 110 births, my experience has ranged from home birth to hospitals, all around Central Iowa.
My family-first birth philosophy stems from wanting to provide moms and dads support that elevates, advocates, and equates.
- I desire to elevate moms and dads both mentally and emotionally through their birth process.
- I desire to provide encouragement to self-advocate during their prenatal and childbirth journey.
- I desire to provide information that makes moms and dads feel like members of their own care team.
I attended Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids where I met my husband Dustin, and then attended Iowa State University where I earned a Master’s degree in Adult Education. My husband and I are raising our three daughters (Lauren- five, Quinn – three, and Evelan – newborn) in Beaverdale and we are members of First Federated Church, where we attend regularly.
